Family history enthusiasts across Australia are invited to delve deep into their ancestry at the upcoming Queensland Genealogy Event, set to take place on Saturday 31 August 10am – 2pm 2024, at the Brisbane GSQ (Genealogical Society of Queensland) Resource Centre, 25 Stackpole Street, Wishart 4122

Attendees will have access to a wide range of resources, including expert-led workshops, a vast selection of genealogy tools, and the chance to connect with leading specialists in the field.

Event Highlights:

Displays by all the GSQ Interest Groups – Scottish, German, English Irish Welsh, Scandinavian, Chinese, Colonial and Convict, Writing, DNA, Family History Tech, and our 3 Zoom groups – Monday Morning, Wednesday Morning, and Wednesday Evening.

Book Sales – Giveaways of CD’s no longer required; Used books at reduced prices; and New Books – All for Sale.

Sausage Sizzle so you don’t get hungry as well as Yummy cakes and tea/coffee for sale by our lovely ladies who know how to bake.

Coffee Van – For those extra special type of Coffee that you need to get through the day.

Displays by – National Archives of Australia, Queensland State Archives, State Library of Queensland and FamilySearch.

Informative talks – “Setting Research Standards, Sherlock Holmes Style” with Dr Jennifer Harrison – 11am; “What DNA Can & Can’t Do for Your Genealogy”  with Judy Lofthouse – 12noon; “Using GSQ Resources in Your Family History Research” with Ailsa Corlett – 1pm.
