FamilySearch expanded its free online archives in February 2024 with over 29 million new, indexed family history records from 42 different countries.

Over 8 million records alone were added to United States City and Business Directories, followed by record expansions in the millions for Russia, the Dominican Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and El Salvador. Over 100,000 records each were added for Brazil, Colombia, the Czech Republic, France, Ireland, Peru, Sri Lanka, and the United States, (2 large collections) More records were added to an expansive database from the world’s cemeteries in Find-A-Grave Index. Numerous other countries scattered around the globe expanded record sets that invite exploration.
