The Indiana State Library is excited to announce the return of the Genealogy and Local History Fair on Saturday, October 26th, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This year’s theme, “At the Crossroads of America: Westward Migration and Family History,” will explore the paths our ancestors took after arriving in the United States.

Renowned genealogists Eleanor Brinsko and Annette Burke Lyttle will headline the event with presentations on migration methods, advertising’s role in Midwest settlement, and the history of America’s first federal highway, the National Road.

Genealogy fairs like this offer invaluable opportunities for family history researchers to connect with experts, discover new resources, and gain insights into their ancestors’ journeys and lives. They serve as a platform to deepen understanding of historical contexts and migration patterns, crucial for constructing accurate and enriching family narratives.

Registration is encouraged but not required. For more information or to register as an exhibitor, contact the Genealogy Division at genmail@library.in.gov. Parking validation is available for attendees parking in the Senate Avenue garage.
